Interesting day (part 2)

Wow! Woke up real early this morning! Considering I got back home around 3 am...

Let's see. Yesterday, was really thrilled for my class! We got the BEST CLASS AWARD for April! Yoohoo! I thought my efforts to nag at my class finally got some results. It was then some of my kids told me: They saw the judges coming around to mark the class and they quickly cleaned up the classroom. Sigh... Never mind. I am still very happy because they at least care enough to clean up the classroom when it counts. And according to them, most of the class put in an effort to clean up the classroom. Yeh!

Lessons started - managed to zap finish the 3N holiday assignment and distribute them out. They having elective modules the whole of next week. 2nd Yoohoo! No need to see them till next term! But then... just got the (bad or good would be subjective) news that I'd be getting the WHOLE 3N CLASS next term... Argh! Quickly put in a request to be given the 'better' class.

Got Mr Wai to print out the mark sheets again. And again. And again. Doesn't he know what kind of data the FTs need? He wasted so much paper printing out Mark Sheets that we cannot use...

Then, the most frustrating thing of the day happened. Prepared all the mark sheets for signing, printed out the appointment forms for some of the students to get their parents to come collect their report books coz they failed certain subjects, got all my paper work finito. Even went to grab my camera to take photos when they were having their Life Skills Workshop.

Everything just went !@#$% after I released the Mark Sheets for signing. Perhaps I should not have passed out the application forms for the Sports Day events... It was good to know that they are enthusiastic about the Sports Day, but sigh... Dun they realised that they were screwing up the quick and easy way to finish signing the Mark Sheets so the rest of the class can go off... Afi had to go for his Friday prayers, the uniform groups were having CCA activities, camps, and what-nots and they also have to go get all 'dressed up'. The students were all yelling for me to release them but I couldn't... Not when the Mark Sheets kept getting stuck somewhere and not fully signed...

Argh... Again, the expectations issue raised its head. Are my expectations overly high and thus I am all upset? In-class admin has always been easy with my past classes. Either they dun bother, just quickly sign and pass it on. No need to look, no need to compare. Less marks to look through also. But, they were also smart enough to look first, sign, and pass it on. They will stay back to argue, discuss, watever, after class...

Well, maybe something I could have done - asked them to have their Student Handbooks at hand so that they could check their marks against the Mark Sheets. Give them something to do rather than just sit around... Just an opportunity waiting for things to go awry. But ARGH! Do I have to think of everything??? I guess so...
