Wat do you know... I've just been warned by my HOD that my 2 Sec 1 Express Maths classes are VERY ill-disciplined coz from the beginning of the year, they have been taught by a slew of relief teachers. This definitely does not bode well.

Also got 2 other Sec 1 Normal Acad Science classes, but dunno anything about them yet. HOD to speak to me only on friday.

Last but not least, there's the other 2 Sec 2 Normal Acad Science classes. Have been having holiday program with them everyday & will continue for the rest of the week until sat.

So far, the students in these 2 classes have been okay coz HOD didn't really plan many things for them to do, so I have been taking my time with the lessons and practicals & spend a LOT of time waiting for them to keep quiet, letting them know that I will not carry on the lesson until the class is quiet, etc, etc, and other stuff that I'm particular about.

Like no speaking of Malay, Chinese, etc in class. (Thou I myself have been tempted to speak Singlish at times to make the lesson more 'interesting'.) No calling me 'cher'. No dragging of chairs. Will definitely have more things which I get irritated at as the year goes by. But for now, the first 3 will suffice.

I have being pretty strict with them & so far no major problems except for 3 kids in 1 class and 2 in another. Basically, they have been defiant and rude. Haven't marked their work for the past 2 days, so will have to check their handouts (left in the staff room) to see if they did their work.

And it'd be real busy once term starts. Was just told that we (the teachers at bukit view) are all expected to give remedial lessons every week. Since got 6 classes, can expect every day to be burned. On top of all the work, marking, lesson plans, etc.

And then, will be in charge of the basketball team. Which means I have to brush up on my basketball skills. Apparently the female teacher-in-charge now is not sporty and they dun have a coach. But I guess the one good thing is, I'll finally be able to start on my exercise routine which I've told myself to start since eons ago.

All being said, I'm very thankful for the new zealand trip next week. I can at least take a short break from everything before hitting the classrooms again. And to remind myself how unimportant all the frustrations I get in school are... *sigh*
